-- TPOI: Iran Eyes $1bn Annual Trade With Saudi Arabia
Director General of West Asia Department of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Farzad Piltan on Monday said that his country aims to have $1 billion annual trade with the Saudi Arabia in the short term and promoting it to $2 billion in the medium term.
Following the restoration of political relations with Saudi Arabia, Piltan said that the value of the two countries’ trade exchanges was about $800 million over the previous years with the balance of trade in favor of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
-- FAO: Iran Exporting Quality Honey to 22 Countries
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations has reported that quality honey produced in Iran is exported to 22 countries, adding Iran ranked 3rd in the world in terms of honey production. According to the statistics of FAO, Iran holds the third rank in the world in honey production terms.
Production of high-quality honey in Iran has helped the country to stand higher than other countries in the global ranking. FAO pointed out that Iran produced 80,000 tons and 77,000 tons of high-quality honey in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

Pejman Dorostkar will remain head coach of Iran freestyle wrestling team until the 2024 Olympic Games. The coach is under pressure after his team’s lackluster performance in the 2023 Asian Wrestling Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Team Melli just won one gold medal as well as one silver and three bronzes, finishing third behind Kazakhstan and Japan. The wrestling federation has announced that Dorostkar will remain as head coach in Paris 2024.

-- Remains of hydraulic system found at 700-year-old educational complex in northwest Iran
Archaeologists have found a cistern and irrigation network believed to be benefited from a hydraulic system for supplying water to Rab’-e Rashidi, an educational complex dating back to the 14th century.
Archeological evidence shows signs of hydraulic engineering (water and water structures) within Rab’-e Rashidi complex, IRNA quoted a local cultural heritage expert as saying on Monday. “The presence of water hydraulic engineering in this place is considered a strange and unique sign of the technology of that era,” Dr. Bahram Ajorlu explained.
